Some screencaps over at my journal, just in case someone wants them. Have fun :)

I haven't seen this posted here before so forgive me if it's old news, but Channel 4 is broadcasting a show called 'The Greatest TV Shows of the Noughties' tonight at 9pm. The advert features quite a few clips from 'Doctor Who' and according to the Channel 4 website...

The Greatest TV Shows of the Noughties features some of the biggest names in television, from David Tennant to Jeremy Clarkson, giving us their views on what they think was hot and not from the past decade.

It's probably too soon, but I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of screencaps for Hamlet?

I've tried watching Catherine Tate: Nan's Christmas Carol and although I enjoyed David in his "not feminine" outfit I couldn´t understand a what they where talking about, David's Scottish accent was really strong as well as Catherine's who talks really fast... If anyone know where I can find some subtitles, you will be my life savior!!! Also, as I couldn't understand Catherine's I tried watching QI because David was a guest on the show, and surprise, surprise, I didn't understand anything at all!! So please, some help is needed, ASAP!!

Thanks!!!!
PS: I watched The End of Time with subtitles, and... OMG!!!

I tried posting a criticism of "End of Time" last night, but it was a bit too short I imagine as it was rejected by the moderators. Here's a lengthier take #2. Short spoiler free version: I really, really hated it.

I'm sure people have made them before, but I'm looking for a .gif of the Master from season three when he does that frowny face to show displeasure (alternately a .gif of him giving thumbs up would also be appreciated). If anyone has something like this saved that he or she would share with me, or if someone could whip one up, I'd be so grateful. Thank you!

I hope this is allowed, feel free to delete if it isn't.

Myself and my fellow maintainers at [info]doctoreleven are looking to do a sort of scrapbook fanmail project to send to Matt Smith, and possibly a small scrapbook to send to Karen Gillan as well just to show them that we love and appreciate them already and have high hopes that they will not disappoint us once they get on screen.

We haven't set up the guidelines or figured out a submission deadline yet but those things will be posted on Tuesday.
I've posted a poll to gauge expected participation and that is posted here.

I just wanted to crosspost here to see if there were any others who would like to be involved in this in case you don't follow our comm but are interested in sending some positive messages to Matt and Karen.

The unofficial overnight ratings from the Guardian put the viewing figures for the End of Time at 10 Million. Based upon what the figures were the last couple of years we can assume an increase of about 1.3 million overall, making the ratings around 11.3 million (plus another 0.3 in HD figures if the BARB decides to count them).

Although this is good for usual DW it is very much down on the last two years,. However, some consiation can be that the usual festive programmes have all gone down, with the highest rated programmes (Eastenders and the Royle Family) failing to break the 11 million barrier, only 2005 had this lower christmas ratings this decade.

Info can be seen here:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2009/dec/26/bbc-wins-christmas-ratings-war
Or
http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/tv/news/a192758/xmas-day-ratings-top-20-in-full.html

Based on this we can probably make a good estimate as to how DW sits with the rest of the years viewing:

Round 1...suggest! (mods remove this if you think it's not properly placed)

I'm moving to my new apartment within the month *squee* and most of my friends have wonderfully geeky names for their flats. I can't quite well name it the TARDIS (not unless my landlord lets me RE DOOR the front door...and I doubt that'll happen), but I am looking for suggestions. Names of previous friends apartments: Oz, Wonderland, King's Cross (Harry Potter/Brits FTW), The Hub, so on and so forth.

I'm looking for something who themed, or exceedingly nerdy, or british. (Big Bang Theory, Mighty Boosh, Doctor Who, Torchwood, Firefly, Star Trek, Star Wars, Harry Potter, etc) those are all appropriate themes.

I'm looking forward to hearing your suggestions! Thanks! (I apologize for the cross posting)

Thanks to my IRL friends, the Doctor Who community and the Steamfashion community it has been narrowed down to 2 suggestions

So it's Star Trek versus Doctor who. Now we all know Doctor Who wins by default. But that doesn't mean it has a better ring to it.

SO PICK YOUR FAVOURITE

Holodeck or the Oodsphere (Note: If the oodsphere wins, my bedroom will be renamed the holodeck). Although I can't guarantee I'll abide by the what happens in the holodeck stays in the holodeck rule.

Let's see who gets Knocked Out!
